Considered "scare, local," this Violet-crowned Hummingbird (Amazilia violiceps) was at the Beatty's Guest Ranch in southeast Arizona's Miller Canyon, Huachuca Mountains - one of the hummer hotspots. I was really taken by his beautiful immaculate white underparts and of course, the violet-blue crown. I was very glad that he turned around for his portrait! Taken with Canon 40D and EF 300m f/4L +1.4x.
