Northern Cardinal

Don't know if this meets the criteria for a deformed beak but, I'll run it up the flagpole and see if anyone salutes. It was taken near my backyard feeder during the Great Backyard Bird Count. I had never seen a beak like this before. It probably is just broken.

I think you're correct, Lowell: It looks like this female somehow managed to break off the tip of her upper mandible. She's still a pretty bird, though! Thanks for sharing it with us!
