Forum Help for New Members
Hello and to our friendly forums! Some things about using them are not intuitively obvious, so I thought it would help you to know that there are two places to find help on using these forums.
1. The Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page -- click on the FAQ link in the dark gray bar at the top of the page to get to it.
2. Learn how to post pictures.
3. The Guidelines category of the About the Forum forum. This is where the administrators and we users post explanatory information about some of the forum features, how to do things on the forums or solve particular problems that aren't covered in the FAQ. Click on the folder named Forum Index at the very top (or the link in the dark gray bar -- either one) and slide down near the bottom of the page to find it.
At the very bottom of the Forum Index page there is another set of forums where you can practice using the different features of the forum to make posts if you feel a need to do that. You can always delete practice posts later if you want to.
Practice posting here.
Note that you can always edit one of your posts to fix an error in it -- you don't need to make a new post to correct an error. Just above each of your own posts, on the right, are some little buttons labeled Edit and Delete that allow you to do those things to that post.
btw, this would be a good place to ask how to do something that isn't covered in either the FAQ or the Guidelines -- it would alert us to the need for putting an answer in the Guidelines.

Hi, Jackson! I'm Thornius in Nashville, TN. Welcome to the forum!!! I am LOVING the Olympics in your area! I always waited to be a snowboarder but being an almost 60 year old grandfather, I don't think that's gonna happen. Thirty years ago I used to do some figure skating, but that's about as close as I got to it. Pictures you say, eh? We LOVE pictures here. I take about 50 - 100 bird and nature pics a day and post the best ones here. Most of us here are ADDICTED to taking and looking at bird pics, so bring them on! I happen to like Varied Thrush and Clark's Nutcracker pics myself. BRING 'em on! We'll look at them!

Watch the Birdie!!!

Hi Jackson, Welcome to the forums! You can learn more about how to navigate around here by following this link: http://cs.birdersworld.com/brdcs/faq/default.aspx To post images here, you first must have them uploaded to an outside site like photobucket or flickr. These sites make it easy to grab the image code and paste it in a reply post here. You can test things out in our Testing Forum to see if everything is working alright. Make sure images have the image code around them, which is listed in the fourth Q&A at this link. You are also welcome to submit photos to our online photo galleries. First choose the gallery you wish to submit to and follow the instructions to upload your photo. Make sure to include the species of the bird when submitting and it is also helpful to include the location. Hope this helps!
