Cooper's Hawk
rstrick11 Posted: Fri, Mar 12 2010 5:16 PM Reply

It has been raining and raining, we got 3 inches yesterday and more today. This afternoon i went out to my shed blind during the last part of the rain. The birds grew active as the rain slowed and eventually stopped. I was watching the birds feed getting a few shot here and there when suddenly the backyard exploded as all the birds hi tailed for Tim buck two, As a Cooper hawk buzzed the backyard. he had done it before, always leaving, but this time he paid me a little visit. He came back into the yard and landed on the brush pile i have built up with my Mexican sunflower trimmings. I had the big lens on with the extender so he was to close to get a whole shot. I removed the extender and was able to capture him full body.

Very nice pics. I have had one streaking through, occasionally, for the last 2 days. It hasn't stopped for a pic, yet.

Really nice pictures. Cloudy here in Rhode Island, the rain is due soon.Storm  I have had a Coopers visit my yard several times this year and today I had a visit by a Sharp-shinned.  They have such great eyesite!  Twice today I saw him out the front window and grabbed my camera and as soon as I moved in to take the pic he saw the movement and took off.Sigh
