This bird suddenly showed up on my birdbath. I was outin my shed(blind) and was able to capture the bird. I have noticed that more birds are coming to the water now due to the dryness in the air.

This species is probably my FAVORITE bird of all time. I went to a bird banding on Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga, TN, when I was 10 years old and got to hold one while the birders photographed it. It was biting the FIRE out of me the whole time, but I was so proud and amazed. I have ALWAYS had a warm spot in my heart for these birds ever since.
