Common Birds in Decline? What to believe?

I recently found this list of Common Birds in Decline, through the Audubon Web site: http://stateofthebirds.audubon.org/CBID/browseSpecies.php I started looking into it and checking out what the Cornell Ornithology Lab had to say. They site the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species and the data doesn't hold true in comparison between these websites. http://www.iucnredlist.org/ How do I go about learning, who should I trust?
