Sword!? Looks like a lance! Great shot. There must be some seriously long, trumpet-like blooms that necessitate that bill.

If he dips some nectar on Tuesday, it must get to his throat by Friday. Suppose your nose was that long. You'd have to put a hankie on a pool cue to reach the end. You gotta love nature.

I wonder if his tongue reaches the end of the beak for cleaning ..... can he lick his lips (so to speak). Would make a nice stir stick for tropical drinks ....... [:D]

 Wow!  Just wow!  The color is amazing.  Love that background.  At 1/250 second shutter speed I would have expected more motion blur.
