    This image was taken in December 2008 in a mangrove swamp area just off the Rio Tarcoles in Costa Rica. This little Kingfisher (~ three inches tall) was totally consumed with preying on small crustaceans and seemed oblivious to us and our boat as we snuck in for the shot!
