During january 2011 I spent two weeks birding in Guatemala.  Of course one of the target birds I desperately wanted to see was the Resplendent Quetzal, the national bird of Guatemala.  While at my hotel in the cloud forest I found this beauty dining on fruits in the trees over the patio where I sipped on Guatemalan coffee with my eggs that morning.  It was an incredible experience sharing breakfast with one of the most sought after and beautiful birds in the entire world just overhead.  Canon 7d with EF100-400L IS lens.  Settings were AE, 1/160sec at f/16 at ISO 500.  Many of the Guatemalan natives have never seen this almost mythical, ghost-like bird.
