I captured this Oriental Dwarf Kingfisher in the morning under a  heavily shaded branch where this little fellow was looking for his prey on the ground.

I have been trailing this ODKF for a few years and I was very lucky to spot this ODKF this week after waiting for him to come out for his prey  for about a week .

Photo was shot by Nikon D3s with Nikon 800mm F5.6 ED-IF AiS + Nikon TC14B teleconverter.

Photographic Tools was sitting on Manfrotto 526Pro Fluid Head with Manfrotto 536 Pro Carbon tripod.

Manual focus and Manual mode on DSLR.

EV0.0 , ISO 3200 , F8.0 , Speed 1/500 , WB 5800 .

Raw Software by Adobe CS 6 Extended .

Your patience and hard work paid off.  What a beautiful bird.  Could you tell us where this bird was shot please?
