This shy and elusive bird inhabits the broad-leaved forest of the Himalayan foothills in the northeastern part of India. It remains in flock and forage in the canopy in search of insects and their larvae. It is difficult to get them in the open and into well-lighted areas, but I was lucky enough to get this bird in quite an open perch with a hilly background last week on a cloudy morning. It was shot on the outskirts of the Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary in Darjeeling with the help of a Canon 7D and 500mm f4 lens.
