    An early arrival for northern New Jersey (November 8, 2011), this Snow Bunting was seen at Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge in Meyersville, New Jersey. The photo was taken with a Canon EOS 7D and Canon 100-400 IS zoom. Settings were 1/1000 sec., f/6.3, and ISO 800.

    I shot this image at Long Branch State Park in Macon County, Missouri, on December 10, 2011. Two of the birds were seen on a rock jetty on the lake.     I found a small flock of Snow Buntings on January 1, 2012, during a hike along the sand dunes to Factory Point in Hampton, Virginia. It is always a good spot to find shorebirds and migrating waterfowl. This was quite a treat… I used a Canon T2i and a 100-400L IS USM lens.
