Ft. Island Trail Gulf Beach in Crystal River, Florida, is a great place to see the skimmers, gulls, and osprey. I was there early enough to watch the skimmers displaying their feeding technique and got this shot using a Canon Rebel XTi and Canon 70-300 IS lens.

I was able to get a shot of this Black Skimmer in flight while visiting the Santa Barbara, California, area this summer. The flock in this area is huge and the birds are fairly tame and accessible.

This image was taken at Fort DeSoto in Florida, a flock of Black Skimmers came into the area and I captured this one landing. D200, 70-300mm VR.

This photo was taken at Sandy Hook, New Jersey. I came across a group of Black Skimmers that included several juvies on the beach. This one came flying right at me to make sure I didn't get too close. I used a Canon EOS Rebel T2i with a 70-300mm set at 1/1250 sec., f/10, and ISO 400.

This bird was seen at Conaskonk Point, Union Beach, New Jersey. It was shot with Canon EOS 7D, 100 - 400mm set at 1/1250 sec., f/14 and ISO 1000.
