While walking along a trail in Hernando County, Florida, taking photos of butterflies, I was surprised when this Bald Eagle suddenly flew in after something it had seen from high above. It was in and out quickly and I just started shooting hoping I might get a decent photo. I was using a Canon 40D and...

Bald Eagle and squirrel in the nest. I was monitoring a Bald Eagle's nest in our neighborhood when the eagle incubating the egg(s) became agitated and started flapping its wings. I started clicking and when I reviewed what I had captured I was amazed and amused and laughed so hard I almost knocked...

This photo is of a young Bald Eagle. And I was fortunate enough to capture its very first flight out of the nest. This past summer we found out there was a new Bald Eagle nest a short distance from our home, and my wife and I spent about three to five hours a day watching and photographing the new family...

This photo was taken about a week after the two eaglets left the nest. And here the parent was sitting in the nest with a fine feast for them. It was really interesting that the parent would scream and just wave this fish trying to coax the young back to the nest. You could see both of them in the area...

Many of us, while watching the progress of a Bald Eagle nest, in northeast Pennsylvania, were treated by the female adult Bald Eagle "yawning." Having just dropped off a fresh kill at the nest, she then flew over our heads at about 50' high, and landed in a tree about 100' from us....
