I was doing some biological work on Alaska's north slope this past summer and spent a late evening (night actually) exploring along the northern reaches of the Haul Road (the Dalton Highway). I was tromping across the tundra along the road, when this Jaeger leapt of its nest and attacked. As I was retreating, I put on a wide angle lens and snapped about a million photos every time the bird swept in. As soon as I crossed some invisible threshold she benignly returned to her nest.
