I took this photo at the Nature Center at the Black Hills Regional Park in Gaithersburg, Maryland. It was late afternoon and I was just about to pack up and this bird came in and posed. The photo was taken with a Nikon D300 and a 600 mm F.4 lens. The exposure was 1/250 sec at f 16 at an ISO of 400. I used fill flash which was reduced by -.3 EV as was the camera
