This pair, a drake and hen, was photographed at Tinkers Creek State Preserve last year. I felt I was fortunate to get the pair swimming side by side. I used a 7D, manual, 1/800 sec. at f/5.6, ISO 500, 700mm f/4 (500mm f/4 and 1.4x).
