This photo was taken at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport on April 7, 2012. I went to see this hawk for it was way out of its range. I took the photo with a Canon 1Ds Mark III, Canon 800mm, 1/1500 at f/5.6, ISO 400, +.5 exposure compensation, AV, servo, handheld. - Jim Chagares

Taken on the Louisiana coastline below Sabine National Wildlife Refuge. I used a Canon D40 with 300 fixed lens and 1.2 extender. I was using the sports mode setting. I photographed this immature Northern Goshawk from the summit of Mount Pinos (elevation 8,831 feet) in Ventura County, California, on August 27, 2011. This species of raptors is scarce in Ventura County. I used a Canon 7D camera and a Canon 100-400mm telephoto zoom lens.
