    Taken on the Louisiana coastline below Sabine National Wildlife Refuge. I used a Canon D40 with 300 fixed lens and 1.2 extender. I was using the sports mode setting.     I photographed this immature Northern Goshawk from the summit of Mount Pinos (elevation 8,831 feet) in Ventura County, California, on August 27, 2011. This species of raptors is scarce in Ventura County. I used a Canon 7D camera and a Canon 100-400mm telephoto zoom lens.

    This juvenile hawk was seen for only the third time in New Brunswick. It was found yesterday morning in the Shepody Marsh area near Riverside-Albert, Albert County, New Brunswick.
