The weather forecast for December 20, 2012 was not good for cunducting the Lake Blackshear Christmas Bird Count in Georgia. An 80% chance of rain for the afternoon pretty much told our group that we had to get what birding we could get in done in the morning hours. The old adage of "Red sky in the morning; sailor take warning" proved correct. But our team was treated to a beautiful sunrise as we began our 2012 count from a boat dock. I used my iPhone 4 to make this image.
