Red-shouldered Hawk: This youngster was part of a group of juveniles that were learning how to hunt near the home of online member Wildlife Photog JS in Atascadero, California.

 

Harris’s Hawk: Falensmom photographed this handsome Harris’s Hawk just south of San Antonio, Texas, in May 2010.

 

Ferruginous Hawk: You can count wing and tail feathers on this Ferruginous Hawk, spotted by trailhiker at the San Jacinto Wildlife Area near Riverside, California.

 

Swainson’s Hawk: Lois Manowitz found over a hundred Swainson’s Hawks in a field in the Sulphur Springs Valley of southeast Arizona. The birds were of every age and color, she says.

 

Cooper’s Hawk: Online member mauibanyan came upon this juvenile Cooper’s Hawk by a nest in Los Caneros Reserve in Goleta, California.
